The Purpose and The Invitation

The Equity Prof LLC is dedicated to educating on equity and excellence for the purpose of preparing and supporting educational equity professionals. Many people are eager to learn more about educational equity and justice but have not had access to consulting or professional learning of this nature. The need to create more spaces for learning and understanding these topics has always existed. That need continues to grow. countless school communities are looking to gain pedagogical content knowledge and ready-to-use, evidence-based strategies to promote and sustain their growth. On the frontlines of the classrooms, many educators name feeling underprepared to meet the moments that face them and many students name needing the adults in the room to be more prepared. Let's support educators and students by increasing access to knowledge and strategies for the good of all staff, students, and schools.

Learn With Me

Meredith Madden, Ph.D.

With two decades of experience spanning K–12 and higher education, I bring a deep understanding of what it takes to advance equity and excellence in today’s schools. My own teaching began as a K12 special education teacher in the Bronx and Finger Lakes regions of NYS. As a professor, I have prepared future educators at the community college, liberal arts, and research university levels. As the founder and manager of The Equity Prof LLC, I partner with school districts to deliver high-impact professional learning on diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice—bridging knowledge and practice to improve outcomes for all students.

As a researcher, author, and educator, my work centers on advancing equity and excellence in education through a focus on education justice, cultural responsiveness, Dialogic instruction, and educator Growth. I bring a scholarly foundation and practical perspective to every partnership, drawing from experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals, university presses, and widely read education media platforms. Curious about my latest work? Explore Rise for Racial Justice: How to Talk About Race with Schools and Communities (Teachers College Press; Co-authored with Colette N. Cann, ph.D. and Kimberly Williams Brown, Ph.D.) or Dear Students: 10 Letters to Empower and Transform Your Higher Education Journey (Peter Lang).
